The
wonders of WD40 Submitted by Colin Harding
A lady got up very early one morning and went outside to pick up
the Sunday paper, she noticed someone had sprayed red paint all around the sides of the neighbors brand new beige truck. She
went over and woke him up and gave him the bad news. He was, of course extremely upset. And they stood there trying to figure
out what could be done about the problem. They decided there wasn't much recourse but to wait until Monday, since nothing
was open. Just then another neighbor came out of his house, surveyed the situation and immediately went to get his WD-40 out
and cleaned the red paint off with it. Guess What! It cleaned up that paint without harming the original paint on the truck!
I'm impressed!!
Water Displacement #40. The product began from a search for A rust preventative solvent and degreaser
to protect Missile parts. WD-40 was created in 1953 by three Technicians at the San Diego Rocket Chemical Company. Its name
comes from the project that was to find a 'water displacement' compound. They were successful with the fortieth formulation,
thus WD-40. The Corvair Company bought it in bulk to protect their atlas missile parts.
Ken East (one of the original
founders) says there is nothing in WD-40 that would hurt you...' IT IS MADE FROM FISH OIL' . When you read the 'shower
door' part, try it. It 's the first thing that has ever cleaned that spotty shower door. If yours is plastic, it works
just as well as glass. It is a miracle! Then try it on your stovetop... It is now shinier than it has ever been before.

Secretary
Tabusintac Community Center Inc.
The annual meeting of the Tabusintac Community
Center Inc. was held on March 26. Three new community members have joined the board. TCCI welcomes Benno Schafer, Myles Harding
and Dean Harding to the committee. They join the executive; Chairman Fraser McCallum, Vice-chair Jody Holmes, Treasurer Tanya
McEachern; Secretary Gail Savoy and directors Chris Avery, Rosie Mecking, Colin Harding, Bill Vye, Ronnie MacEachern, Billie
Joe Fowler, JD Kennedy, and Amanda Simpson as the work continues to build a new school and community center facility for our
community.
To that end, there was a commitment made at the annual meeting to hold a public meeting following a meeting
between Education Minister Kelly Lamrock and ACOA Minister Keith Ashfield. That meeting is scheduled for May 19th. A public
meeting will be held soon after.
TCCI wishes to thank St. Andrew's United Church for the donation of $550. The funds
were from a free will offering taken at the Easter musical held April 11th.
But even more we want to thank the community
for the ongoing support to this project. We are confident that we are very close to achieving the goal of bringing our children
back to a new school and having a community center to benefit us all. We are "Building a future for all ages" and
are grateful for our community's support.

PLAYGROUND
EQUIPMENT FUNDRAISERS
Currently our children are being taught in a community that is not ours, which makes
it very hard, but they also have no playground equipment to play on. With hopes of a new school in the horizon, we need to
act now in raising money for a playground as the Department of Education is not responsible for providing one. It will be
a long journey to reach our goal, but an achievable goal. In researching costs, our school could have a nice size play area
for $19,209.92. This includes a play area to accommodate 30 children, plus a 6-seat swing set. Now wouldn't the kids have
a blast with that!!!! While this may or may not be the exact play area we will be purchasing, it is a guideline for our goals.
VARIETY SHOW
There will be a variety show held on May 1st at 6:30 at the Tabusintac Community Hall. This will
include a BBQ (hot dogs and hamburgers), bake sale and canteen. We encourage students and members of the community to enter.
It should be a fun filled evening of laughter and fun!!!
BALL TOURNAMENT
A ball tournament will be held on July
17th and 18th at the Tabusintac Ball Field. Many volunteers are needed for this event for the canteen and to ump games as
well. Eight to 12 teams will be needed to make it a great success and each team will pay a fee of $100 to enter. The deadline
to enter is June 23rd with receipt of money by June 30th. We encourage local businesses, churches, families, etc. to put a
team in.
BREAKFAST
A breakfast will be held on July 18th at the Tabusintac Country Market. The menu will be scrambled
eggs and ham. Cost $6.00/adult and $4.00/child.
