Tabusintac Community Center
Work on our project for a new school and community centre continues despite the news we were not included in the province's Capital Budget list for new school construction this year.
Committee representatives will be meeting with the Minister of Education Kelly Lamrock and Miramichi Bay-Neguac MLA Carmel Robichaud this month to discuss the project and the future start date for construction.
Community support is important to us as we continue our efforts to secure funding. An annual meeting will be held in March and a full update will be provided then.

Romantic Things for Valentines
• In the 1800's physicians commonly advised their lovelorn patients to eat chocolate to calm their pining.
• As an elixir for love, chocolate has been believed throughout history to bring smiles to the broken-hearted and to prompt amorous feelings in both men and women. It is believed that Madame Du Barry served it to all her suitors; Casanova consumed chocolate instead of champagne to induce romance; and Montezuma, the king of the ancient Aztecs, believed chocolate would make him virile.

A Red, Red Rose
By Robert Burns

O, my love is like a red, red rose,
that's newly sprung in June.
O, my love is like the melody,
that's sweetly played in tune.
So deep in love am I,
And I will love thee still, my dear,
Till a' the seas gang dry.
Till a' the seas gang dry, my dear,
And the rocks melt wit' the sun!
And I will love thee still, my dear,
while the sands o' life shall run.

And fare thee weel, my only love,
And fare thee weel a while!
And I will come again, my love,
though' it were ten thousand mile!

Hello Everyone!

The TWA is currently in the process of completing its current project "Measuring the Ecological Footprint of Waterfront Property in the Tabusintac Watershed". Anyone who wishes to receive a questionnaire to participate in the project may contact us at 779-1185 or via email. Thank you to those who took the time to complete and return their questionnaires and for the site visits.

The TWA is applying for funding for next years projects which are: Freshwater Mussel Inventory of the Tabusintac Watershed and Protecting the Biodiversity of the Tabusintac Watershed by Reducing Purple Loosestrife. For these projects to be successful, residents and stakeholders of the Tabusintac watershed need to participate. Workshops will be conducted to provide the materials and information needed to educate the TWA, residents, students, and stakeholders on how to succeed in these very important projects.
The presence of freshwaters mussels within the Tabusintac watershed means that the rivers and land are healthy and that it can support habitat for animals and fish that live hear. Freshwater mussels in a river system have positive affects on commercial fishing and aquaculture, industry, agricultural, and recreational usages of the Tabusintac watershed.

Purple loosestrife may be pretty to some but it's a very aggressive plant that chokes out other plants that are natural occurring within the Tabusintac watershed. Long term effect of purple loosestrife on an ecosystem is that it reduces habitat for all the wildlife and aquatic life.

If you have any questions on the projects please do not hesitate to conduct the TWA.

Jokes of the Month

How do men define a 50/50 relationship? They cook, we eat. They clean, we dirty. They iron, we wrinkle.

Why is it good that there are female astronauts? because if the crew gets lost, at least the woman will ask for directions.

Getting married is very much like going to a restaurant with friends. You order what you want, then when you see what the other person has, you wish you had ordered that.

At the cocktail party, one woman said to another, 'Aren't you wearing your wedding ring on the wrong finger?' The other replied, 'Yes, I am, I married the wrong man.'

After a quarrel, a husband said to his wife, 'You know, I was a fool when I married you.' She replied, 'Yes, dear, but I was in love and didn't notice.'

What's the fastest way to a man's heart? Through his chest with a sharp knife.

When I hear the word 'culture', I reach for my checkbook.

It is time for us men to acknowledge not only that women are vastly superior beings (that's easy) but also that they are - in every way that matters - our equals. That's hard..

A road map tells you everything except how to refold it.

Evil is 'live' spelled backwards. Enjoy living!

Before you met any handsome prince, you have to kiss a lot of toads.

Tell a man there are 300 billion stars in the universe and he'll believe you. Tell him a bench has wet paint on it and he'll have to touch to be sure.
