Tabusintac Country Market (Open until Dec.13th
)

On behalf of the market board and vendors, I want to extend our thanks to the community for your support over the past few months.
This was the third season for the market and it was successful.
A special thank you to the Tabusintac Community Development Corporation and other non-profit community organizations for providing delicious breakfasts for the customers.

For my part, I especially want to thank the vendors for their commitment to the market. It's not always easy getting up early each Saturday, week after week, but you did it. It is you who make the market what it is and your efforts at providing quality products is very appreciated.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and we'll see you all on Saturday, June 5, 2009 when we reopen the Tabusintac Country Market for a fourth season.

Christmas Facts
Silent Night was written in 1818, by an Austrian priest Joseph Mohr. He was told the day before Christmas that the church organ was broken and would not be prepared in time for Christmas Eve. He was saddened by this and could not think of Christmas without music, so he wanted to write a carol that could be sung by choir to guitar music. He sat down and wrote three stanzas. Later that night the people in the little Austrian Church sang "Stille Nacht" for the first time.

The 26th of December was traditionally known as St Stephen's Day, but is more commonly known as Boxing Day. This expression came about because money was collected in alms-boxes placed in churches during the festive season. This money was then distributed during to the poor and needy after Christmas

Recipes of the Month

Kahlua Bowl Cake

A great dessert, made with chocolate cake, Kahlua, candy bars, and more.

• 1 package chocolate instant pudding, prepared
• 12 ounces Cool Whip
• 1 chocolate toffee candy bar (Skor)
Preparation: Assemble in a 2-quart bowl: Put half of the cake cubes in the bottom of the bowl then pour half of the Kahlua over the cake. Spread half of the pudding over the cake and Kahlua then spread half of the Cool Whip over the pudding. Repeat layers then break the Skor bar up and sprinkle pieces over the top.
