Tabusintac Local Service
With the thoughts of snow still around
and Victoria Long Weekend here, Summer can not be far away.
The Tabusintac Local Service District
will not be doing the Tabby Tattler for July- August. Starting in September we
will be looking for an interested person or persons to help keep the Tabby Tattler going.
The summer months are going to be
very busy with the possible new construction at the Marina. The docks are going on the long weekend, weather permitting, if not
the following weekend- we could use some help. Contact David if you are able to help.
The Farmers Market is opening on
June 2nd . Come out and support the vendors or have a hearty breakfast starting at 7:30am –
10:30am.
I would like to thank all the volunteers
who come out to every function and help out, but as everybody knows volunteers get tired and new volunteers are needed to
keep our community going. So if you are one of those people who would like to help out contact any of the groups in Tabusintac
and volunteer.
We Need You

Tabusintac Country Market
Mark your calendars for the big day!!
The second season of the Tabusintac
Country Market begins on Saturday, June 2. The doors at the Community Hall will open at 7:30
a.m.
Come and see your favourite vendors
from last year. They, like you, can hardly wait for opening day.
The 2007 season will have new hours.
Hours of operation will be 7:30 to 11 a.m.
Vendors will be offering all the
goods and goodies you are expecting to see and buy. TCDCI (Tabusintac Community Development Corporation Inc.) will be back
to serve up their hearty Jack and Jill breakfasts again. Other non-profit corporations will be preparing and serving
breakfast throughout the market season. They will be giving the TCDCI team a break and raising some much-needed
profits.
The Tabusintac Country Market committee
has met and is ready to get things started. The committee is made up of Patti Blake, Calma Harding, Helen McCallum,
Janie McLean, Angele Palmer, and Gail Savoy. Each committee member, along with the vendors and the community, has
a role to play in the success of the market.
Patti will balance the books,
Calma will collect the vendor fees, Angele will take the weekly vendor bookings, Helen and Janie make up the telephone
committee, and Gail will handle publicity and manage the market.
The Tabusintac Country Market committee
and vendors will meet Thursday, May 17 at 7 p.m. Claire LeBlanc of the Really Local
Farmers Market in Dieppe will be the guest speaker for the evening.
She will tell us of the success of
the market she is involved with.
If you are interested in becoming
a vendor or know of someone who is, please call Angele at 779-4734 to book a table. Any questions about the Country Market,
please call Gail at 779-8045.
We hope the community and surrounding
areas continue to support the Tabusintac Country Market. The market committee and vendors welcome and encourage everyone to
join us on June 2.

Garbage Pick Up
It is the time of year again for
the solid waste special pick up for white goods (fridges, stoves, washers, dryers, deep freezers, air conditioners, scrap
metals, etc. in the Local Service Districts.
For this year’s Spring Special
pick-up campaign, the week of May 28th to June 1st 2007 has been selected
for special pick-up.
As part of their contracts, the solid
waste collectors have to advertise this special pick-up to the general public, whether it be church bulletins, newspapers
or by other means.
To insure that the public in your
area is notified, my office is also sending you this information and suggesting that your committee make a notice for the
public. .
IMPORTANT: In any notices that you may put out could you also advise the residents not to put out ashes in their waste. This is not permitted under the Provincial Garbage
regulation and is a safety factor for the haulers as it has caused garbage trucks to catch on fire. You can simply spread ashes on the ground, flower beds, etc. as fertilizer.
Tabusintac pick-up will be on May 31st, 2007, regular garbage hours.
