Tabusintac Old Home Week 2010
Saturday, July 31
7:30 to 11 a.m. - Tabusintac Country Market - Tent
7:30 to 10:30 a.m. - Breakfast – eggs & bacon (Neguac Special Olympics) – Tent - $6
8 a.m. - Souvenir Sales (Sales will continue all week or until supplies run out.) – Rec. Council building beside tent.
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Settlement Schools Reunion – Community Hall - Go back in time and visit the numerous settlement schools in Tabusintac. From Price Settlement to Covedell, students attended one room school houses throughout the community. You will be able to go back in time and visit the schools through stories, pictures, video and a bus tour.
Tour package - $10 (includes bus tour, lunch and booklet)
Tour - $5, Lunch - $3, Book - $3
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Quilt Show - hosted by Common Thread Quilting Group – Tabusintac Library & Museum
12 to 4 p.m. - Registration for Softball Tournament – Tent
(Maximum of 16 teams - $150 per team, teams must provide their own bats although there will be some at the field.)
1 to 5 p.m. - Antique Car Show – Ball field (We painted a truck pink in 2005. Who will be surprised this year?)
7 p.m. - Crowning of Royalty / Opening Ceremonies – Tent - $5 admission
10 p.m. to 1 a.m. - Welcome Home Dance (Thirsty Rangers) – Tent - $10


Sunday, August 1
7: 30 to 10:30 a.m. - Breakfast – bacon, eggs, beans, biscuits & toast (St. George's Roman Catholic Church) – Tent - $6
9 a.m. - Mass (St. George's Roman Catholic Church)

9:15 a.m. – St. John’s Presbyterian Church (regular service)
11 a.m. – St. Andrew’s United Church (regular service)
11 a.m. – Victory Worship Centre (regular service)
2 p.m. - Cemetery Service - Tabusintac Riverside Cemetery
(Enjoy your time between the service and events at the wharf to spend time with your family and friends.)
3:30 p.m. - Reading by Sally Armstrong from her novel The Nine Lives of Charlotte Taylor – First Woman Settler on the Miramichi – Tabusintac Library & Museum

Monday, August 2
7:30 to 10:30 a.m. - Pancake Breakfast (Old Home Week Committee) – Tent - $6
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. - Quilt Show - hosted by Common Threads Quilting Group (Tabusintac Library & Museum)
2 p.m. – Parade – Route 11 (from St. George`s Roman Catholic Church to ball field)
4 p.m. – Official opening of the Interpretive Centre (Tabusintac Marina)
4 p.m. to 10 p.m. - Family time (Take advantage of this time to have a family reunion, gathering or quiet time.)
10 p.m. to 1 a.m. – Old Fashioned Kitchen Party – Join us under the Big Tent for a party like we used to enjoy in the kitchens of many Tabusintac homes. It will be open mic night. Got talent? You might be invited to the stage. - $2 admission

Tuesday, August 3

Genealogy Fair will be held at the Tabusintac Library & Museum all week.
We will also have an Old Home Week Book store. Looking for a copy of a book by a local author? We may have it.
The Tabusintac Library & Museum will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday, Aug. 1 from 12 to 5 p.m.
The Old Home Week guest book will available at various events to be signed

Craft Sale will be held all week in the tent. On the first and last Saturday the event will be hosted by the Tabusintac Country Market. Please call Gail Savoy at (506)779-8045 or email
